Bruce Elbert, President of ATS, is a highly experienced expert witness relating to technology, patents, financial, contracting and marketing issues in all satellite communications domains. He has been a testifying expert witness in court and provided expert reports that have been extremely effective for client organizations. Examples of proceedings involve patent infringement and validity, prior art research, valuation, bankruptcy, contracts, and taxation. Some examples of past efforts include:

- Resolution of radio frequency interference in a satellite network that was the subject of a contract dispute
- Issues surrounding satellite TV set-top boxes and why a particular technique did not infringe patents
- Whether a technique to provide data broadcasting was not an innovation in a patented sense
- On the possibility that a listed company had misled investors as to the quality of their revenues and future prospects
- Technical strategy that proved the value of a mobile radio patent, using actual field measurement and demonstration of the intended function
